After years of painstaking research and design, the Fender Eric Johnson Stratocaster Electric Guitar has finally arrived. Designed with Eric by Custom Shop guru Michael Frank-Braun, this beauty is based on a '57, and combines the best of vintage design with modern electronics technology. The '57-style, 2-piece alder body has an ultrathin, Custom Shop-quality nitrocellulose lacquer finish that results in better resonance. Johnson opted for a one-piece, quartersawn maple neck with a 12" radius that's finished with a thin-skinned glossy lacquer and vintage tint. 19 prototype pickups were created before Johnson found the tone he was looking for. The Custom Shop-modified single coils use a new wire material for the magnets. Johnson and Braun also included one of Eric's most famous Strat modifications by wiring the tone controls to the neck and bridge pickups, instead of the standard neck/middle tone configuration of most Strats. This guitar is tonal perfection thanks to the discerning ear of one of the best players to ever pick up an axe. And it's pleasing to the eye as well, with its large arm contour, '57-style pickguard and shallow pickup cavities, plus thin headstock with vintage staggered tuners that eliminate the need for a string tree. Unbelievable Custom Shop quality in a production axe. Thanks Fender, this one was well worth the wait!

You feel like you've traveled decades back in time when you pick up the '66 Strat Closet Classic. This Custom Shop creation is an exact reproduction of the original, made using the same tools and techniques, and precisely duplicating the original specs: the nitrocellulose lacquer over urethane finish, the large headstock with the '66 logo style, and even the original's wing string tree. It sports vintage tuners, the F neck plate, and the C neck shape of the period. Even the pickups are exact duplicates of the '66 versions. Select alder body, maple neck, and maple fretboard. It has been given the Relic treatment to look like a guitar that has become worn from years of gigs. Includes a black hardshell deluxe case, strap, and cable.

Only 100 will be made! The alder body; one-piece V-shaped, tinted maple neck; and gold vintage hardware on this Custom Shop Limited Run '56 Stratocaster Relic are aged to look like they've been rode hard and put away wet. But of course the medium jumbo frets are pristine and perfect. The gold anodized pickguard goes great with the desert sand finish and looks particularly cool with the Relic aging. The '50s pickups generate inimitable Fender vintage tone and the middle one is reverse wound for humbucking when used with the others.The Desert Sand finish is a rarity - a tiny number of Strats were originally produced in this color.

Limited run of 100 instruments

This Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition Stratocaster has been produced in a limited run of 200 by a team of skilled luthiers in Fender's Custom Shop. It is true to the specs and style features of the 1966 including the large headstock and C-shaped neck profile, and it features a silvery nitrocellulose lacquer finish and a 3-ply parchment pickguard. It has 3 1965 Custom single-coil pickups with the middle pickup reverse wound to cancel hum in switch positions 2 and 4. Other features include Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuners, the wing string tree, and an American Vintage synchronized tremolo. It has been given the Closet Classic treatment the look of a guitar made in 1966, played a little, then put away in a closet until now. It has a few dings, a mildly checked finish, lightly oxidized hardware, aged plastic parts, and it plays with a broken-in feel. Its Custom Shop crafting, Closet Classic treatment, and its firemist finish make it a special Strat among Strats. Includes a black deluxe Fender case, strap, cable, and a Limited Edition Certificate

It is an exact replica of a 1954 Strat, made in honor of the Strat's 50th birthday. Every aspect of the original has been duplicated including the knobs, switch tip, pickup covers, and pickups. It even has the serial number stamped on the back tremolo cover plate, the U-neck shape of the original, and the 2-piece ash body with offset glue seam. Aged nickel hardware and a Custom Closet Classic finish make it look so authentic, you'll feel like you've been caught in a time warp.

The Custom Shop has re-created the 1956 Stratocaster that become known informally as the Mary Kaye Strat, after the leader of The Mary Kaye Trio, a group that performed regularly in Las Vegas during the mid-fifties. The guitar features the Closet Classic treatment. This gives it the look of a guitar made in the '50s, played a little, and then put away to age gracefully in the case with a few small dings, mildly checked finish, lightly oxidized hardware, and aged plastic parts.
